A 47-year-old construction worker was buried and injured on the construction site for the U5 extension in Laim.
Now the police are investigating.

According to the fire brigade, the man fell into a pit on Gotthardstrasse at 2:46 p.m. and was buried up to his head by the soil and stones that had slipped down.
His colleagues made an emergency call and immediately tried to dig up the 47-year-old with their hands.
However, these efforts were unsuccessful.
To prevent them from sinking in, the workers secured their colleagues with slings and ropes until the rescue workers arrived.
The fire brigade then brought a turntable ladder into position.
In addition, the helpers erected a wall of timber to prevent further earth and stones from sliding to the scene of the accident.
An emergency doctor was already taking care of the 47-year-old.
After about an hour and a half, the rescuers freed the injured construction worker from his predicament.
For further treatment, paramedics took him to the emergency room of a clinic, the fire brigade speaks of serious injuries, but the police of minor ones.

The construction pit was secured by the fire brigade and handed over to the construction company.
A crisis intervention team was ready to look after the shocked colleagues.
Commissariat 13, which is involved in the event of industrial accidents, has taken over the investigation.
Officials are currently assuming that an excavator has dug out an excavation pit.
After that, for an unclear reason, a large amount of gravel and earth came loose and buried the man.
