Penzberg - A high property damage of about 300,000 euros and three slightly injured people.
This is the balance after an apartment fire in Penzberg.
The police operations center was also alerted via the integrated control center on Friday (December 16) at 1:45 a.m.
A fire had been reported in an apartment building on Wölfl Street in Penzberg.
When the first Penzberg firefighters arrived, an apartment was fully engulfed in fire.
The flames threatened to spread to the surrounding apartments, but fortunately the fire brigade was able to prevent this.
All residents of the house, all of whom were able to get themselves to safety, were cared for on site by the rescue service.
At least three people are suspected of having smoke inhalation, and one man was injured in the hand.
All three injured people were taken to the Penzberg Clinic by the rescue service.
"There could also have been deaths," said the Penzberg fire brigade commander Simone Abt in a telephone call to the Rundschau.
Their fire truck was the first to arrive.
"The roof was about to ignite, luckily the residents had already left the house by then," emphasized Abt.

Damage of around 300,000 euros
One apartment was completely burned out by the fire, another adjoining apartment is heavily smoked.
According to the Oberbayern Süd police headquarters, initial estimates of the damage are around 300,000 euros.
All residents of the apartment building had to stay with neighbors or relatives overnight.
A total of almost 60 people from the Penzberg, Iffeldorf, Seeshaupt and Sindelsdorf fire brigades, as well as rescue services, emergency doctors, on-site helpers and representatives of the city of Penzberg were on duty.
In the evening, Penzberg police officers took over the first investigations on site.
On the morning of December 17, the responsible department 1 of the Weilheim Criminal Police Inspectorate then took over the investigation.
The Kripo Weilheim is now investigating a man for negligent arson and negligent bodily harm, among other things.
According to the first findings of the police, the fire was caused by incorrect filling of an ethanol stove.
Notes on handling ethanol stoves:
- Be careful when refilling the fuel: do not fill as long as the fireplace is burning or is still hot!
- Do not place the fireplace near combustible materials!
- Never leave the oven unattended!
- Ventilate regularly: The burning process reduces the oxygen content in the room, gases such as carbon dioxide are produced!
- Pay attention to extinguishing tools that are also suitable for burning alcohol!
