Markt Schwaben –
Even if it sounds trite: A relatively small fire, triggered by an overdose when filling in aluminum, triggered a large-scale operation at around 9.36 a.m. on Friday in the die-casting plant of Magna BDW Technologies GmbH in Wiegenfeldring in Markt Schwaben.
According to Managing Director Markus Wimmer, Magna employees were able to extinguish the fire themselves before the external fire brigades, who were automatically alerted, had to intervene.
Operations manager Franz Kolbeck (Markt Schwaben) reported that, in addition to his troops, there were also comrades from Anzing, Ottenhofen, Gelting, Poing, Pliening and Feldkirchen, as well as the district fire inspection, the BRK and the police at the scene.
A total of 80 firefighters were mobilized.
A CO-2 switchgear was also triggered automatically in-house to fight the fire.
Therefore, the main task for the fire department was to ventilate in a controlled manner.
