This is what it will look like on the construction site of the B 15 Isen Bridge in Dorfen during the winter months.
The State Building Authority has put Dorfen's most controversial construction site into early hibernation.
Dorfen
– The onset of winter at the weekend also brought work on the B15 Isen Bridge in Dorfen to a standstill.
The Freising State Building Authority announced that the construction site would be winterized in the coming days.
"Due to the sometimes very severe frost, the filigree components have cooled down so much that the full-surface concreting of the superstructure would only have been possible with drastic quality losses," writes press spokesman Thomas Jakob.
According to him, otherwise cracks would have formed and the concrete would not have bonded sufficiently to the reinforcement.
.The break even had to start a step earlier than originally planned.
In addition, the reinforcement work was only possible under extremely difficult conditions during the recent very cold days.
Should there be a longer warm phase in the coming weeks, during which the temperatures do not fall below freezing point even at night, the reinforcement and concreting work on the bridge would be resumed.
According to Jakob, the early hibernation has no impact on the completion of the bridge.
The date given was June 2023.
The sealing work can be carried out as planned from April if the temperatures are clearly above zero.
