The Russian Baltic Fleet launched large-scale maneuvers in the Kaliningrad region, west of the country, with the participation of the air and coastal forces, reinforced by dozens of ships, vehicles and aircraft.
The Russian Novosti agency quoted the fleet as saying in a statement today: “The command and staff maneuvers were launched in the Kaliningrad region, with the participation of the forces of the Baltic Sea base, ships of the fleet and naval aviation, where the naval tactical formations will start from their bases to deploy in specific areas of the Baltic Sea.”
The fleet indicated that 10 ships, boats, support ships, 1,500 soldiers, 50 military vehicles, aircraft and helicopters of the Baltic Fleet participated in the maneuvers.
