The fire occurred in an apartment building on Wölfl Street in Penzberg on Friday (December 16) at around 1:45 a.m.
As the police headquarters in Oberbayern Süd informed in a press release on Friday afternoon, the apartment was already fully engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived.
The flames threatened to spread to the surrounding apartments, but fortunately the fire brigade was able to prevent this.
All residents of the house were able to get themselves to safety
According to the police, all residents of the house could have brought themselves to safety and were looked after on site by the rescue service.
At least three people are suspected of having smoke inhalation.
A man was also injured in the hand.
All three injured people were taken to the Penzberg Clinic by the rescue service.

All residents of the apartment building had to stay with neighbors or relatives overnight.
According to the police, almost 60 people from the Penzberg, Iffeldorf, Seeshaupt and Sindelsdorf fire brigades as well as rescue services, emergency doctors, on-site helpers and representatives of the city of Penzberg were on duty.
In the evening, police officers from the Penzberg Police Inspectorate took over the first on-site investigations.
On the morning of December 16, the responsible department 1 of the Weilheim Criminal Police Inspectorate then took over the investigation.
Ethanol stove as a possible cause of the fire
The Kripo Weilheim is now investigating a man for negligent arson and negligent bodily harm, among other things.
According to the first findings of the police, the fire was caused by incorrect filling of an ethanol stove.
