Raimund Bader has said goodbye, Fabian Leininger is the successor of the Grünwald chamberlain.

He does not have to deal with liquidity problems.

Grünwald

– Fabian Leininger (34) from Taufkirchen has been running the chamberlain's business in Grünwald for six months.

An exciting and demanding task for him.

Municipalities of this size with a budget of 400 million euros are rare in Germany.

When it comes to reserves, he holds it like his predecessor Raimund Bader.

He does not want to reveal an exact amount, so as not to trigger a debate about envy.

Both brothers work in the treasury

As luck would have it, the Leininger twins Fabian and Sebastian are now not only closer professionally, but also geographically.

Brother Sebastian is deputy treasurer in the neighboring municipality of Oberhaching and ensures orderly accounting in the Haching valley.

The affinity for numbers and the specific talent for it seems to have been instilled in them.

Together, the two began 18 years ago at the Munich District Office with training as administrative clerks.

"We're very similar in that respect and we also exchange ideas professionally," says the Taufkirchner.

Good memory necessary

Then the paths diverged marginally.

Fabian Leininger started at the association for secondary schools in the southeast.

Here it turned out that he has an affinity for numbers and finance.

He was already involved in the household here and realized that this discipline suits him.

A good memory, for example, is essential for successful further development.

But before the final destination was found, Fabian Leininger made an excursion into a very heterogeneous area: He switched to the Oberhaching municipality in IT administration.

He wanted to emancipate himself a little from the administration during this time, had to keep the infrastructure running, develop security concepts and seal the firewalls.

Finally, communities are increasingly exposed to hacker attacks.

He still keeps this knowledge in the back of his mind and developed a certain sensitivity in the area of data protection.

Figures are closer to him than IT

Nevertheless, during this time he completed his degree in administration and realized during the course of his training that finances and figures are more important to him than IT issues, which is why he returned to his old area of responsibility and successfully applied for a position as treasurer in Neubiberg.

A little over a year ago, he decided to take up the position of chamberlain in Grünwald.

He has already settled in well here, about six months ago he took over the position from his predecessor Raimund Bader.

The new treasurer has been running the business with a very good and reliable staff for six months.

"Due to the high financial strength, there is greater scope here to push projects."

There are plenty of reserves

In Grünwald he does not immediately need a supplementary budget for newly added costs.

Due to the volume, a required additional sum can be accommodated quite easily.

Reserves are plentiful, a loan is not necessary.

Despite the financial strength, that is the chamberlain's impression that Grünwald has remained down to earth and does not spend the money with both hands.

At the end of the year, things are getting particularly busy in the finance departments.

Everyone is busy with budget planning, which has to be presented in February.

The budget estimates must be checked or determined again.

In addition, the annual financial statements for December 31 need to be properly prepared.

If he has questions, he can exchange ideas with his brother and learn how other communities are approaching the matter.

"In the end you have to find your own way," said the chamberlain.

Finally, there are peculiarities that are site-specific, such as the communal child-raising allowance in Grünwald.

"The community provides a lot of impetus, for example with geothermal energy." The 34-year-old likes that, feels generally at home here in the Isar valley and sometimes thinks to himself when walking along the high banks: "It's nice here."

An Advent concert on Saturday

Incidentally, Fabian Leininger plays the trumpet in his free time.

Before Christmas he has planned an appearance in the wind ensemble at the Advent concert - on Saturday, December 17th at 7 p.m. in the church of St. George in Unterbiberg.

His brother also plays the clarinet in the ensemble.
