A young man from Freising was seriously injured in an accident in the Dachau district.

A tree fell and crashed into his car.

Still, it wasn't without incident.

The worst accident in which a young district citizen (28) was seriously injured occurred in the Dachau district.

The 28-year-old was on Wednesday around 7 p.m. with his Renault on the B 471 in Karlsfeld in the area of ​​the local quarry ponds in the Dachau district when, after the freezing rain, a tree standing on the side of the road could no longer withstand the weight and fell on the road.

According to the Dachau police, he hit the Freisinger's Renault and a BMW, which a 50-year-old from the Fürstenfeld district was driving.

All three vehicle occupants (a 46-year-old passenger was still in the BMW) were seriously injured and taken to nearby clinics by the emergency services.

Damage to the car was around 20,000 euros.

There was a lot of broken sheet metal on the autobahns, as the VPI Freising reported: "Despite intensive efforts by the clearing and gritting services between Eching and Freimann, the black ice caused many accidents and traffic delays on the A9," writes Chief Police Officer Michael Oberprieler.

Within four hours on Wednesday, the officials recorded a total of 16 traffic accidents, "which almost finally happened because of the ice that occurred."

Oberprieler continued: “A total of 23 vehicles were damaged in the accidents.

The preliminary estimated total damage is around 120,000 euros.

Fortunately, only one person was slightly injured in the accident.

Because of the accidents, there was “a significant impairment of traffic”.

The patrol crews of the VPI were supported, among other things, by the FFW Dietersheim in traffic safety and road cleaning.

Slip at Freising runs lightly

Traffic in the area of ​​the Freising Police Station was quiet: "There was surprisingly little going on," summed up Police Chief Inspector Ralf Schmidt.

So on Wednesday at Freising there was only one slip with a Suzuki, which went off lightly.

A 21-year-old from Langenpreising left the roadway to the right at around 7 a.m. on the B 301 just before the Freising/Marzling exit.

The car crashed into the guardrail, spun on its own axis and came to a stop across the roadway.

Schmidt: “Fortunately, the young man was not injured.

A total of 8,000 euros was damaged.

There were no reports from the Neufahrn and Moosburg inspection areas.

"The emergency room was packed, but these are internal medicine cases," says spokesman Sascha Alexander, describing the situation at the Freising Clinic after the freezing rain: "There was no accumulation of broken bones or other accidents caused by the black ice."

There are restrictions at the airport

Air traffic was also severely affected by the wintry weather.

As reported, operations had to be temporarily suspended on Wednesday afternoon.

FMG spokesman Florian Steuer reports that 240 flights have been cancelled.

Because of the aftermath, 70 were added on Thursday.

26 machines could not land in Munich and were diverted.

Both lanes were cleared once on Thursday.

For this reason and because of de-icing, FMG counted 35 delays of more than 30 minutes.
