Thuringia's state budget for 2023 can be decided in a special session of parliament shortly before Christmas.
The budget committee of the state parliament cleared the way for this on Friday, said its vice-chairman Ronald Hande of the German Press Agency in Erfurt.
The committee discussed a large number of amendments and allowed the state parliament to pass the budget on April 22.
Erfurt - December recommended with a number of corrections.
According to Hande, the budget has a record volume of 13.07 billion euros - that's 67.8 million euros more than planned by the government.
The state parliament is running out of time for the 2023 budget because the minority coalition of Left, SPD and Greens has been unable to reach a compromise with the opposition CDU for a long time.
This was the prerequisite for the decision of the budget committee.
Red-Red-Green is dependent on votes from the opposition - the coalition lacks four votes for its own decisions in Parliament.
