According to an Odoxa - Backbone Consulting poll, revealed exclusively by
Le Figaro
, less than a third of them remain indifferent to the formidable course of the national team, which will face Argentina on Sunday for its fourth World Cup final in twenty -five years.
In detail, 42% of French respondents confided their "
hope
" to see the Blues win on Sunday, 30% their "
joy
" to have reached the final, and 26%, their "
pride
".
Only 28% of them remain “
indifferent
”.
A careful analysis of French publications on social networks, conducted by Véronique Reille-Soult (Backbone Consulting) reveals that this general enthusiasm is also widely shared among dual nationals who have so far supported Morocco.
These will essentially share the joy of the Blues in the event of victory in the final.

For 75% of those questioned, a third star on the Blues jersey would increase the feeling of national pride.
This momentum could have a positive impact on the morale of the French, at half mast this autumn: a third (32%) of those questioned believe that victory in the final would improve their well-being, as well as the country's economy, by causing a higher consumption.
On the other hand, the French have little taste for the excesses observed on the sidelines of previous matches, and the large police force planned for this weekend does not reassure them.
59% of them believe that everything must be done to avoid new scenes of violence.

As for the favorite players of the French, it is unsurprisingly Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappé and Olivier Giroud who are cited first, but the order will perhaps surprise: cited first by 26% of those polled, "
Grizou

Olivier Giroud is not far away, and distances the goalkeeper of the Blues Hugo Lloris who arrives in fourth position (9%).

Until now, on all the winners of the Blues, it was Kylian Mbappé who largely dominated: a year ago, in November 2021, on the same winners he collected 32% of the votes against only 20% for Antoine Griezmann and 14 % in Lloris.
As for Giroud, he was not even tested because he no longer played with the Blues (Benzema who had replaced him and collected 7% of the votes).
Finally, the political considerations surrounding this World Cup also divide the French, who nevertheless believe for 63% of them that Emmanuel Macron is right to go and support the French team on Sunday in Qatar - only 49%, on the other hand, approved of his presence in the semi-finals on Wednesday evening.
