Despite her young age, the promising talent, Alia Al-Marwad, was distinguished in most of the tennis tournaments in Suwayda, and she achieved remarkable results due to her strong physical capabilities and a high technical level.
Al-Marwad, 14, mentioned during her interview with SANA how she started playing tennis at the age of seven, with the encouragement of her mother, the champion of the Republic, Ola Kanaan, and the interest of the coaches Wassim Zainia and Alaa Abu Bakr, which led to the development of her level and qualified her to compete in local and foreign tournaments.
According to Al-Marwad, she won first place in seven republican championships for age groups, and participated in two West Asian championships, the last of which was in Bahrain this year, in which she won the bronze medal for the singles competition and the silver for the doubles competition.
Al-Marwad explained that she is committed to her training on a regular basis, with intensification in the summer and official holidays, and is also trying to benefit from the instructions of her coach in order to improve her level for the better, and achieve greater positions and broader external participation during the coming period, pointing out that the game of tennis, which has become an important part. From the details of her daily life, she relies on intelligence, fitness and skill, and brings many benefits to her practitioner.
According to coach Wassim Zainia, a member of the Tennis Association, Alia is one of the talents of the game in As-Suwayda, which occupies advanced positions at the level of Syria in this sport, and presents distinguished male and female players, indicating that she plays smart and knows how to earn points, and she has a constant determination to win, compete and achieve advanced positions in tournaments. At the same time, stressing that she needs continuous training and many camps to improve her level for the better.
