His Eminence, the Armenian Orthodox Archbishop Magar Ashkarian, expressed his thanks to the Syrian state for the attention and care it provides to the Armenian community, pointing out that Syria will remain the safe embrace of all its children.

Archbishop Ashkarian said during his meeting with the accompanying delegation, the Governor of Hasakah, Dr. Louay Sayoh, this afternoon: “Our dear homeland, Syria, has been subjected to a terrorist war since 2011 with the support of dozens of countries, but thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army and the people’s stand by it, everything that was planned in this war has been thwarted.” .

He added, “We pray for Syria to achieve final victory over terrorism and its supporters, and to return to what it was before, a country of safety, stability, and a warm embrace of all its social components,” pointing out that victory is inevitably coming, and we pray today for Syria and its people to live in safety.

In his turn, Governor Sayoh stated that His Eminence's visit to the province carries messages of love and peace, and also emphasizes the national cohesion and brotherhood that characterizes the people of Syria with all its social components.

The meeting was attended by the governorate's police chief, Brigadier General Mahmoud Junaid, and the deputy governor, Hassan Al Shamhoud.
