The fact that the team at the Fürstenfeld Event Forum is promoting the “PV systems on the roof” project with regard to climate protection is one thing.
Now the halogen lamps inside the building are to be replaced by LED lamps.
Fürstenfeldbruck – The discussion in the culture committee had to get rid of other plans for the time being: the renovation of the toilets.
Roughly speaking, after a half-hour debate, one question came up: toilets or lamps?
The room in which the most recent meeting of the culture committee took place was, of all things, the small town hall in the event forum.
So the committee members were, so to speak, close to the problem presented by Fürstenfeld boss Norbert Leinweber.
Sanitary facilities are worn out
The sanitary facilities on the ground floor would no longer meet the standard of the event forum.
"The sanitary facilities are worn and do not meet our quality standards," said Leinweber.
They urgently need to be renovated.
The company had already withheld the money for this in the middle of the year.
Of the 515,000 euros of unused funds from 2021, the event forum returned 300,000 euros to the city.
The remaining 215,000 euros were withheld after approval by the city council.
The money could now be used for the renovation, said Norbert Leinweber.
7000 euros for five soap dispensers
However, the members of the culture committee found some stumbling blocks in the execution of the Fürstenfeld boss.
Georg Jakobs wondered about the 70 washbasins that are to be installed.
And Theresa Hannig (Greens) remarked that 7,000 euros for five soap dispensers was quite a lot of money.
Leinweber replied that there must have been some incorrect information.

In general, Theresa Hannig said about the refurbishment of the toilet rooms that "especially in the financial situation, this should not be the number one priority".
Group colleague Christian Stangl agreed and suggested using the money to convert the halogen lamps to LED technology.
"I believe that the renovation can be postponed for another year," said Stangl.
Further requests to speak from the panel reinforced the proposal, especially since one could not remember the situation described by Leinweber.
CSU City Councilor Georg Jakobs even used the proximity to the topic and quickly looked at the toilet rooms.
"They're fine," Jakobs said as he returned to the boardroom.

Leinweber said he had visited the wrong rooms.
Nevertheless, the Fürstenfeld boss distanced himself from his project.
"I didn't know the financial situation was that bad," he said.
He agreed to delay the plans for a year.
According to the final decision, converting the halogen lamps to LED lights will cost around 168,000 euros.
