The Assistant Director of Agriculture, Dr. Sattam Khalil, explained to SANA reporter that the area planted with autumn potatoes this season amounted to 1,700 hectares, most of which were concentrated in the areas of Mahrada, Al-Hamra, Khattab, Al-Zouwar, Al-Shiha, and Tumin, and on the outskirts of the city center, indicating that the directorate estimated the production of 107 tons of potatoes per dunum, which, in his opinion, is a small percentage compared to in past years.
The area planted with autumn potatoes in the field of work of the Hama Agriculture Directorate last season was close to 2,000 hectares.
