Holzkirchen – The construction of the middle school in Holzkirchen is becoming more expensive.

This is due to the increased construction price index and the soil conditions.

In May of this year, the market community still calculated total costs of around 41 million euros, but now the inflation-adjusted figure is around 44.6 million euros.

The additional expenditure for civil engineering alone accounts for around 1.1 million euros.

This was recently announced in a public meeting.

Anyone who builds deep in Holzkirchen is never immune to nasty surprises.

Once again, the market community had to determine this for itself.

An expert report revealed that a layer of rock runs through the ground at a depth of around five meters, which has to be laboriously broken through.

"We have a problem," said Mayor Christoph Schmid before handing it over to the specialist planner Christian Friedl from the Freyung-based company ecoplan.

Friedl explained that the layer of rock had to be pierced so that the rainwater could drain off without leaving any residue.

The manhole connections in Holzstrasse and Säggasse also have to be changed because the changed parameters result in changes to the previously forecast water volumes and in order to prevent rainwater from backing up.

Josef Sappl sen wanted to do this.

(CSU) know whether it wouldn't be better to collect the water in larger cisterns than the five cubic meter rainwater retention basin planned anyway: "That's nothing, I'm thinking more of 100 cubic meters and remember the drought last summer." However, Friedl rebuffed him because a completely new pipeline system would have to be planned and this would no longer be economical.

The fact that the municipal council is behind the project despite the increase in costs was shown by unanimous resolutions to commission the construction work on the basis of the presented award plan and the cost calculation.
