Tartous Agriculture Directorate announced the start of selling and distributing about 287,000 fruitful plants and 495,000 forest plants, with the aim of implementing the 57-hectare afforestation plan for the current season in the governorate.
The Director of Agriculture, Eng. Ali Younes, told SANA reporter that the forestry seedlings ready for sale and distribution amount to about 495,000 saplings and are available in the nurseries of “Tartous”, “Nabi Matta”, “Al-Sourani”, “Al-Sha’ara” and “Kfarfo” for “cypress” and “fir” nurseries. And “carob”, “castana”, “pine fruit”, “laurel”, “eucalyptus”, “casuarina” and other types.
As for the fruitful seedlings ready for sale, according to Yunus, they amount to about 287,000, of which 57,484 are grafted citrus, and the rest are sapphires, olives, kiwis, avocados, apples, grafted pears, and seed nuts. And “Eki Dunia”, “Fig”, “Pomegranate”, “Seedless Apricot”, “Almond”, “Early Red Berries” and “Kaki”.
He pointed out that the sale of seedlings continues in all agricultural centers in the governorate, according to the family card and the specified prices.
