Operation to rescue Israeli travelers from Peru:
over 300 tourists, including Israelis, are stuck in the ancient city of Machu Picchu following disruptions caused by the precarious political situation in the country.
Following protests that broke out in the country in the shadow of the precarious political situation, train traffic to the area of the famous UNESCO site - Machu Picchu was stopped. The town's mayor claimed that a shortage of food has already been purchased due to the disruptions and due to the lack of tourists from which the residents of the area make a living.
The insurance companies "Passportcard" and "Magnus" will begin in the coming hours an operation to rescue dozens of Israeli tourists who are in the area.
"We are closely monitoring all stages of the rescue, and are in continuous contact with the insured and the authorities on the ground," the companies said.

President Castillo announced earlier this month his plans to dissolve the Peruvian Congress and establish a temporary government of experts, in a move seen by lawmakers as an attempted coup.
