The Syrian Embassy in Belarus participated in events held by the Minsk State University of Languages, on the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language.
The activities included an exhibition of photographs and paintings of Syrian historical, cultural and tourist sites, and competitions in literature, poetry and Arabic calligraphy.
During his speech at the closing ceremony of the activities at the headquarters of the University of Minsk, the Syrian ambassador to Belarus, Muhammad al-Amrani, spoke about the importance and ancientness of the Arabic language and the features that make it one of the richest languages and its great influence on the culture of the peoples of the world, referring to the efforts that Syria has made and is making to advance the reality of the Arabic language, including Establishing the first Arabic Language Academy in 1919, Arabizing university curricula and other matters.
Al-Amrani praised the role of the Minsk State Language University in communication between the Arab and Belarusian cultures, which constitutes an additional element in strengthening and developing distinguished relations between the Arab countries and Belarus in general and between Syria and Belarus in particular, stressing the embassy's readiness to enhance joint cooperation with the university in a way that would consolidate cultural cooperation.
