A deadly car accident occurred on Yu Tung Road in Tung Chung yesterday (16th), resulting in 2 deaths, 1 critical condition and 9 injuries.
One of the deceased was a 64-year-old truck driver surnamed Lin Midou.
According to sources, at the time of the incident, he was sitting on the side of the road at the back of the compact truck, resting with other workers clearing weeds, and then the Longyun bus lost control and hit the compact truck, pushing it forward and then hitting the van .
After the personnel arrived, he was found lying on the back of the tanker truck, and died of his injuries.
"Hong Kong 01" contacted the relatives and friends of the 64-year-old deceased today, and learned that the deceased was originally a truck driver in China and Hong Kong. Due to the epidemic, he switched to a truck driver for a cleaning company. He joined the job for about 2 months and worked from seven to four.
He and his wife have a son who is now an adult and studying abroad.

The incident happened at 9:18 a.m. yesterday (16th). The E36A Long Win bus involved in the incident was carrying more than 20 people from Yuen Long to Tung Chung. The trucks and vans were parked on the left side of Yu Tung Road.
At the time of the incident, the Long Win bus first hit the compact truck, pushed it forward and then hit the van, which caused five cleaners (including the driver of the compact truck) in the central divider and roadside landscaping team, and A plumber was injured.
Among them, the driver surnamed Lin (64 years old) was found lying on the back of the compact truck and died on the spot.
The foreman surnamed Lai (52 years old) was transferred from North Lantau Hospital to Princess Margaret Hospital, where he died at 1:22 pm.
A female cleaner surnamed Huang (58 years old) suffered a fractured pelvis and was in critical condition after being sent to the hospital.
The remaining two workers, a 73-year-old male worker and a 54-year-old female worker, were resting in the car at the time of the incident and suffered only minor injuries.
In addition, 2 male and 4 female passengers (aged between 28 and 94) on the bus were sent to hospital with minor injuries.
The male bus driver surnamed Wu (28 years old) was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail pending investigation and must report to the police in early January next year.
