The Upper Bavarian Culture Prize is going to the district of Erding again.
Ottenhofen - After the musician and composer Martina Eisenreich from Maierklopfen, the award in 2023 will go to the Sternschnuppe duo from Ottenhofen, known for their children's songs.
Second prizewinner is director Marcus H. Rosenmüller.
The district announced on Friday.
Sternschnuppe are the cabaret artist and singer-songwriter Werner Meier and the freelance artist Margit Sarholz, who are also a couple privately.
The duo was founded in 1993. The idea was to make children's songs for the whole family.
The first CD “Taxi Maxi” was released in the same year.
Since then, many more have followed, including three musicals – regularly with serious themes.
District President Josef Mederer explained: "Sternschnuppe connects children, parents and grandparents through the desire to sing and listen to songs that combine the traditional and the new." The Upper Bavarian Culture Prize has been awarded since 1980.
It is endowed with 5000 euros each.
It will be presented next year in Seeon Monastery.
