It is understood that the arrested Bahamian man is 56 years old, holding a street card, and has rented the room at the above address for several months.

Someone reported that they were friends with the 14-year-old deceased, and they had known each other for about a year. Yesterday morning (17th), the deceased and a local friend visited him in his room.

Afterwards, the local friend left first, and the deceased was already asleep at the time. The tenant disagreed and let him stay overnight in the room.

Until yesterday morning, the tenant was shocked to see that the deceased did not respond, and then realized that he was dead, and immediately notified the 38-year-old Indian hotel manager to call the police.

After receiving the report, the police arrived at the scene for investigation and found no superficial injuries on the body of the deceased. However, they considered the case suspicious and handed over the case to the Kowloon West Regional Crime Squad to take over the investigation.

Later, the police arrested the 56-year-old tenant on suspicion of "neglecting children".

Someone reported having a chronic illness and felt unwell and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The room rented by the tenant involved in the case was only 50 feet away. A large amount of drugs, the police also found a pound and multiple plastic bags, and are investigating their use.

In addition, some detectives searched the closed-circuit television footage in shops along Nathan Road to collect evidence.

As of today (18th) evening, the police have found the local teenager who went to the room with the deceased that night and are questioning him.

Somu, the person in charge of the hotel, pointed out that the deceased did not live at the above address, but his 56-year-old friend rented the above address for 7 months, and the deceased would visit him from time to time.

Yesterday morning, the friend of the deceased pointed out to him that the boy was lying on the ground, so he called the police on his behalf, but he did not know the cause of his death.

The police said that they received a report from a 38-year-old foreign man at 9:46 am yesterday (17th) that a 14-year-old foreign boy was suspected to be lying down in a unit at 36-44 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Officers arrived at the scene, and the 14-year-old foreign boy was confirmed dead at the scene.

The cause of death of the boy is yet to be confirmed after the autopsy. The case is now being followed up by the Regional Crime Squad of Kowloon West.
