A delegation from the atomic energy arrives in Tehran for new nuclear negotiations
A delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency arrived in Tehran on Sunday.
Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said that the agenda of the IAEA team, consisting of five members, includes new negotiations with the Iranian organization and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The spokesman said, according to Tasnim News Agency, that there is a realistic hope that the remaining differences with the UN atomic agency will be clarified and resolved in Tehran.
In the negotiations, the IAEA is mainly concerned with interpretations of three sites in Iran where traces of nuclear material were found, indicating past covert activities.
Tehran denied all accusations in this regard, saying that its nuclear projects are peaceful and that the country is not pursuing a secret weapons program.
On the other hand, the head of Iran's nuclear agency, Mohammad Eslami, announced on Saturday that the country's uranium enrichment capacity is greater than at any time in the history of the Iranian nuclear industry.
According to observers in Tehran, the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the West have reached an impasse.
