Argentina national team fans celebrate in Buenos Aires (from YouTube)
Many Israelis celebrated this evening (Sunday) Argentina's victory in the World Cup, at the end of a final match against France, which lasted 120 minutes and an exciting penalty shootout.
In the villages of Mefalim and Or Haner that surrounds Gaza, where many Argentine expatriates live, they celebrated the great victory: "a crazy feeling".
"We Argentinians are like the Jews - if we don't suffer then we don't enjoy," said Claudy, a resident of Levels.
"We showed the Europeans that we from South America can take a trophy. Leo - thank you! You are a king, with and without the trophy."
Lior, also a resident of the kibbutz, said: "I love the Argentina team, it's part of the atmosphere in the kibbutz. The happiest people in the world are here."
"Wow, I'm out of breath," Hades said during the candlelight celebrations.
"The biggest sigh of relief in life, now you can wash the shirt," she added.
