Members of the punk band Pussy Riot apparently attempted to storm the pitch for a protest during the World Cup final in Doha.
According to supporters, however, the action was stopped by security forces in the stadium and three members of the group arrested.
SPIEGEL has a video that is supposed to show the operation.
According to the organization "Cinema for Peace", those arrested were Pyotr Wersilov and Nika Nikulschina as well as a third activist.
The aim of the protest was to draw attention to the Russian war against Ukraine, the imprisonment of Alexei Navalny and the oppression of women in Iran.
Pussy Riot had previously successfully protested during the World Cup in Qatar.
During the US-Iran match, they were seen in the stands wearing T-shirts with the slogan "Woman Life Freedom" on them.
In 2018, Pussy Riot activists stormed the lawn during the final of the then World Cup in Moscow - disguised as police officers.
