A 54-year-old woman in Dortmund was extremely lucky: she fell into the track bed at a train station and was run over by a regional train, but suffered no life-threatening injuries.
"It was located exactly between the rails and wheel tires of the train under an axle," said a spokeswoman for the federal police.
"Absolutely lucky she wasn't trapped."
In the case of the woman's fall, external influence can be ruled out according to the investigations so far, said the spokeswoman.
The 54-year-old is an insulin patient, the train driver said that she first staggered and then fell onto the tracks.
The regional train slowly approached the stop at around 30 kilometers per hour, but was still unable to stop in time.
The train driver suffered a shock.
The 54-year-old woman was taken to hospital with a midface fracture.
The accident happened on Saturday at the Dortmund-Tierpark stop.
