a crisis that lasted almost 15 months

To protest against Algiers' refusal to issue consular passes to Algerians expelled from France for illegal stay, Paris

This restriction has now been lifted, according to the announcement made by Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior, at the end of a visit to Algiers, a decision effective since Monday, December 12:

“

Since last Monday, we have resumed, and we have decided to do so together, a normal consular relationship, the one that existed before the Covid-19 pandemic, in particular the relationship on visas and the exchange between our populations, and this, at the height of the extremely strong and specific friendly relationship between France and Algeria.
