Yay, the road is finally clear!
Not only the little guests of the "pre-opening party" were happy about this, but also the local residents and business people.

There was a celebration in Freising's city center on Friday: Aktive City organized a "pre-opening party" in the redesigned Obere Hauptstraße.

– After more than two years of construction noise, building pits and building fences, the people of Freising were finally able to party and dance again on Obere Hauptstraße on Friday – at the open-air “pre-opening party” organized at short notice by the city and Aktiven City .
The sophisticated supporting program had enough ready for old and young to feel what was missing - namely the pulsating life at the heart of the major project.
“It was difficult times, but I am convinced that it was worth it”
"The redesign of Obere Hauptstraße with the Moosach opening was almost open-heart surgery," said economics officer Teresa Degelmann at the start of the celebrations.
And she thanked all residents and the local business community for their patience.
"It was difficult times, but I am convinced that it was worth it and will form the basis for getting through this economically challenging situation after the Corona years and in the middle of an energy crisis," emphasized Degelmann.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
“I am pleased that many shops have participated and are offering something.
We put together a really good program,” said Max-Josef Kirchmaier, chairman of Aktive City Freising, who once again put a lot of effort into the whole thing – and actually had no time for big speeches.
The reason: St. Nicholas had to cancel his visit to Domstadt at short notice due to the bad weather, namely ice-cold drizzle and ice – as did some musicians.
However, help quickly rushed in and a new band was set up in no time at all, namely the "Freising Brass", consisting of the Who's Who of the Freising artist scene.
And they really let it rip with spiced up Christmas songs from all eras.

As a pre-Christmas gift from the city and Aktive City, there was free mulled wine and free bratwurst for the residents of Freising, who were very patient when it came to downtown redevelopment: around 20 liters of steaming pure Christmas spirit per stand and around 300 sausages at the Schuhbauer stand.
What should not go unmentioned in this regard: some citizens apparently confused the Christmas stands with a free tavern and came straight away with their own cups to secure a supply of mulled wine.
The result, which could then be heard during the tour: "We had 20 liters - after 20 minutes there was nothing left."
Reading lessons for children and Capoeira taster course
For the most part, however, this did not detract from the atmosphere, because the concept put forward by Kirchmaier worked wonderfully, also because it was so diverse: while the little ones were allowed to listen to a reading by Cornelia Neudert in the Furtner, the older ones could go to the HICAP, for example Try out the culture school with a Capoeira taster course.
The evening entertainment was also well taken care of, with Jutta Ederer and Woife Götz playing their favorite discs there – until well after midnight.

Until then, however, the "Freising Brass" didn't let anything burn, even though Kirchmaier had warned the listeners before the first song: "We've all known each other for a long time, but we've never practiced.
It could be weird, or it could be really nice.” But it turned out nice – very much.
