At the end of the year, the managing director is leaving the industrial park operator Infraserv Höchst after 18 years, but before that he handed over a logistics warehouse that is specially designed for hazardous materials.
For 35 million euros, the site operator built a 220 meter long, 75 meter wide and 15 meter high warehouse building in the industrial park, which can accommodate 21,500 pallets.

"A large chemical and pharmaceutical site such as Industriepark Höchst needs a modern hazardous materials warehouse as a fundamental part of a logistics infrastructure that is tailored to the special needs of the site companies," said Vormann when the building was put into operation, which was in the immediate vicinity within 18 months to one of the two fire stations and at the greatest possible distance from the nearest residential area.
Great need for hazardous material storage areas
The hazardous materials store is divided into nine separate sections, in which special extinguishing devices can release large quantities of extinguishing foam within a few minutes.
This is to ensure that no danger can emanate from combustible materials.
Four of the nine fire compartments are specially designed for the storage of chemical, pharmaceutical and healthcare products.
Hazardous substances or pharmaceutical products can be stored here at a comfortable temperature of between 2 and 8 degrees or between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
These are, for example, flammable substances and combustible liquids.
The new building replaces and expands the existing hazardous materials storage capacities at the site.
"There is a great need in the Rhine-Main region for such storage areas that can only be set up and operated at suitable locations with the appropriate security infrastructure," said Andreas Brockmeyer, Managing Director of Infraserv Logistics GmbH.
He therefore assumes that the new facility will also be of interest to many companies that are not based in the industrial park.
