Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani confirmed that the allegations of the head of the US intelligence service about cooperation between Iran and Russia in the file of the Ukrainian crisis are baseless and part of the media war waged by Washington against Tehran.
Kanaani said in a statement today: “The allegations of American officials are political and flimsy, and it is a propaganda campaign against Tehran that is based on lies and deception and carries various goals, including imposing political pressure on Iran.”
Kanaani stressed that cooperation between Iran and Russia is expanding in various defense fields, in a manner that guarantees the interests of the two countries and based on international laws and commitments, and that it will not be at the expense of any country.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman indicated that his country is continuing to build its foreign relations independently and in accordance with its national interests and within the framework of international law and will not ask permission from anyone in this regard.
