Fernando Romero does not appear in the group of the Argentine world champion team, nor among its technical staff.
The name of this 30-year-old Argentinian will however remain associated with the epic of Albiceleste, who won his third world title against France on Sunday, December 18.
This teacher, passionate about football and a fan of Racing, offered supporters and players of Argentina a new anthem for the World Cup in Qatar: "Muchachos", which brings together the team, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi and the Falklands.
Written on an existing melody, it has become, in the stadiums of Qatar and for millions of fans in the country around the screens, the song of this World Cup-2022.

The lyrics were born in 2021 after Argentina triumphed in the Copa America, against Brazil at the Maracana in Rio.
Fernando Romero took up a song by the group La Mosca seeking to tell the revival of Argentine football, ready to seek a world title, 36 years after the last world title of Albiceleste.
In particular, he sought in his words to bring together the two greatest figures of Argentine football: Maradona and Messi.
"I was born in Argentina, land of Diego and Lionel, land of Falkland kids that I will never forget".
And for Fernando Romero, there is no doubt that the "Pibe de oro" watches from the skies over the selection.
"We are a people of exaggeration"
Aimed at those around him, the song began circulating among Argentinian fans and gained popularity thanks to a video made by a sports journalist.
Until Guillermo Novellis, singer of the group La Mosca, discovers it in turn.
"The lyrics are moving. This is Argentina: it speaks of terrible defeats, of frustrations, of the Falklands, of hopes, of dreams, of rediscovering the illusion. And it has entered people's hearts", explained Guillermo Novellis to the daily La Nacion.
Several players and personalities have taken up this anthem.
So much so that La Mosca decided, in collaboration with Fernando Romero, to record a new version of his song.
And the success quickly became phenomenal.
"The song mentions Diego and Doña Tota (mother of Maradona). Would it happen to a German to make a song that quotes Beckenbauer's parents? No, it's an Argentinian thing. We are a people of exaggeration”, explains Guillermo Novellis.
The song still has a bright future ahead of it, as the celebrations promise to be crazy for this third world title.
And La Mosca hopes to be able to play this song in the presence of the entire Argentina team and the precious World Cup trophy.
