A murder case was revealed the day before yesterday (17th) at Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui. A 14-year-old Ukrainian boy died strangely in a hotel room. There were many doubts, and the Regional Crime Unit of West Kowloon took over the investigation.

When explaining the case, the police pointed out that the accident occurred after the deceased and another 15-year-old local boy visited a 56-year-old Bahamian man.

After the incident, the police seized drugs and drug paraphernalia worth about 700,000 yuan in the residence of the local teenager and the hotel room involved in the case. It is not ruled out that the three of them had taken drugs together. As a result, the 14-year-old boy died of a drug overdose, but the exact cause of death has yet to be confirmed by an autopsy.

The case was classified as a "corpse discovery" case, and the Pakistani Han and the local teenager involved were arrested; it is reported that both of them had criminal records; the local teenager's father was also arrested for drug-related involvement.

Today (19th) at about 0:30 in the morning, Chung Ya-lun, Deputy Senior Superintendent (Operations) of the West Kowloon Regional Criminal Headquarters, explained the case to the media at the opposite side of Chungking Mansions where the incident occurred.

He said that the police received a report from the person in charge of a hotel in Chungking Mansions at around 9:00 a.m. last Saturday (17th), saying that a 56-year-old male tenant in a room had informed him that a 14-year-old boy was unconscious in the room. Unconscious, the ambulance arrived and confirmed that the teenager had died.

As the case involved the death of an underage boy for unknown reasons, the police attached great importance to the case and transferred it to the Kowloon West Regional Crime Squad yesterday (18th) for follow-up.

After checking the CCTV footage, the police found that the deceased entered the hotel room involved with another local teenager at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, and stayed with the 56-year-old male tenant involved for several hours.

At about 6:00 a.m. that day, the local teenager left alone, while the other two did not leave the room until the police received a report.

After in-depth analysis and investigation, the detectives of the serious crime team found the 15-year-old local boy involved in the case in Ngau Tau Kok District at about 8 o'clock last night, and seized more than 720 grams of suspected cocaine in his residence, with a market value of about 700,000 yuan.

Since suspected drug-taking tools were also seized in the hotel room, the police initially believed that the case was related to drugs, and did not rule out that the three people involved in the case had taken drugs together in the room. As a result, the 14-year-old boy died of a drug overdose, but the exact cause of death has yet to be determined after an autopsy.

Zhong Yalun believes that the drugs in the case were sold to the West Kowloon District, and the source and background of the drugs will still be traced.

It is understood that the deceased was Ukrainian, born and raised in Hong Kong, and was friends with the 15-year-old local boy involved in the case. It is believed that he met the 56-year-old man involved in the case because of drugs.

The 56-year-old man is a Bahamian citizen and holds a "street permit". He was arrested on suspicion of "abuse or neglect of children or juveniles in his custody" and "allowing the premises to be used for smoking dangerous drugs"; as for the 15-year-old local boy They were arrested on suspicion of "trafficking dangerous drugs" and are being detained for investigation. It is reported that both of them have criminal records.

As for the boy's father, he was also signed by a black cloth mask.
