Applications for the visit can be made online from the Imperial Household Agency website from 9:00 a.m. on the 19th, or by return postcard.

A maximum of two people can apply at one time, and the applicant must be 18 years of age or older.



The deadline is the 6th of next month, and if the number of participants exceeds the capacity of about 1,500 people, a lottery will be held.



It will be the first time in five years since 2018 that a public visit to celebrate the Emperor's birthday will be held, and the first since the Emperor's accession to the throne.



According to officials, on the day of the ceremony, in addition to Their Majesties, their eldest daughter Princess Aiko, Prince and Princess Akishino, and their second daughter Kako are expected to attend.



Also, on the day of the ceremony, a special registration office will be set up in front of the Imperial Household Agency building in the Imperial Palace from the afternoon.
