] The Korean Central News Agency reported that the National Space Development Agency of North Korea yesterday conducted an important test in the final stage for the development of a reconnaissance satellite at the Sohae Satellite Launching Site in Dongchang-ri, North Pyongan Province.

The Korea Central News Agency announced that this important test was carried out in an environment simulating the space environment after mounting the satellite test product on a carrier and launching it at an altitude of 500 km.

This important test was conducted with the basic purpose of evaluating the capabilities of satellite imaging, data transmission, and ground control systems, and was said to have gone through the final stage of launching a reconnaissance satellite.

North Korea said it would complete preparations for its first military reconnaissance satellite by April next year.

KCNA reported that the results of this important test were reported to the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Previously, the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that North Korea fired two semi-intermediate-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea from 11:13 am to 12:05 yesterday morning from Dongchang-ri, North Pyongan Province.

North Korea's yesterday's projectile reached a maximum altitude of 550 km and fell into the East Sea after flying about 500 km.
