This Sunday afternoon, those responsible for the death of a 37-year-old motorist, shot and killed on Friday afternoon in Gournay-sur-Marne (Seine-Saint-Denis), were still actively sought by the police.

A death that looks like an execution.

Between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., the victim was seen driving a Peugeot 3008, traveling at high speed in the city center, with two people perched on a scooter following him.

It is not known when or where the chase started.

According to several witnesses, the motorist tried to flee by accelerating and running through the red lights, but traffic was heavy at the end of the day.

His Peugeot 3008 then hit three cars that were in traffic.

The motorcyclists managed to catch up with him at the level of the Avenue de Champs, one of the two fired into the passenger compartment, hitting the driver at armpit level, without it being known whether the latter died on the cut.

In any case, he immediately lost control of his vehicle.

An open investigation

"The departmental is very busy at this time and the vehicles hit were particularly damaged", noted the mayor (SE) Éric Schlegel, who went there in the evening.

The occupants of the scooter fled towards Chelles (Seine-et-Marne).

An investigation was opened for "murder in an organized gang", specified the prosecution this Saturday morning.

According to shocked residents, the police set up a very wide perimeter until late at night, from Place Churchill almost to Place Roosevelt.
