During the month of March next year, seven lynx may be killed through license hunting in Västmanland. That is what the Västmanland County Administrative Board has decided. - A maximum of three may be adult females, says Sofia Sollenberg, wildlife officer at the county administrative board.
The county board's latest inventory shows that there are around fifty lynx in the county.
The purpose of shooting seven of these is to "stabilize the population within the decided management goal and create conditions for continued sustainable lynx management", according to the decision.
