It is important that you know that there is a special judo club in Bat Yam, which is also a warm home for children and youth, who urgently need financial support in order to continue to promote them and pave the way for them to success!

Meet Lior Landsberg, veteran judo coach

Lior is a veteran judo coach who paves the way for children and youth to excellence in all areas of life with a clear goal to fulfill all tasks (studies, family, friends, practicing sports) to the maximum.

Get to know the judo club which is also a home and needs the help of sponsors who wish to financially assist in funding clothing and travel to training camps and competitions.

"It's also very pleasant for me, my name is Lior, a judo coach in Bat Yam, I immigrated to Israel 50 years ago, I graduated from Hadassim, I served in the paratroopers, I was a physical education teacher for 18 years and I graduated from Wingate. I opened the judo club 40 years ago in 1982. I did a lot Things before I started coaching and from then until today, I manage the judo club with a lot of love and investment as over the years I have built a healthy and pleasant environment that is fun and pleasant to be in. The club is divided by age groups from age 4 to age 70, boys and girls."

A club of Israeli champions

"For 40 years, the club has won the crown of "national champion for seniors" countless times - the first and only club to compete in the European Senior Cup competition in the nineties. We have hundreds of Israeli champions, and only in the last four years have more Israeli champions joined the senior teams. The club has grown generations upon generations of apprentices and apprentices who became European champions and medalists in international competitions and these are very impressive achievements achieved through hard work, perseverance and listening."

A club that is a home

"Throughout all the years and even now, I provide a full envelope in the club. There is a fitness trainer, three trainers and me as the manager responsible for a wide variety of areas, including the personal area.

Almost every morning, all the athletes train and eat breakfast and then everyone disperses to their frameworks. The club is like a second home for the children and that was the goal. They know that there is always someone to turn to besides the family and get answers to all their needs. The children are like my family and I am also involved in their personal lives and help in what I can even in school and even when they are in the army. It is about the community, in one big family.

Our club gives them even more than a school.

The population that comes here is in a not particularly high socioeconomic situation, and there are quite a few who train for free because their parents don't have the financial means.

I myself try to support the trainees financially within the limits of my ability, because I really love them, want to promote them and help them as much as I can despite the budgets because they are not enough and more resources are needed."

How can we help you?

"The state invests in athletes from the age of 16 (athletes who reach national teams and achieve achievements) and in order to achieve these achievements there is a great need for investment in a way that includes travel, training camps in Israel and abroad, treatments when necessary and all of this falls on the parents.

Parents who are not resistant cannot meet the expenses budget and therefore it is not possible to invest in an athlete in order for him to reach the highest possible level.

An athlete who joins the Israeli national team at the age of 16 and has no training preparation experience behind him at a younger age, the chance that he will succeed is very small.

"All the athletes are mainly youth and adults who train 6-12 training sessions a week. A large part of the training is for the Israeli national teams, so it is a large financial expenditure that includes clothing, travel to international tournaments and more. There is cooperation with the Bat Yam Municipality and vice mayor Yaron Levy who really does As much as he can and cooperates. But the municipality is unable to help as much as they want due to the difficulty in financial means, therefore I need sponsors who are interested in adopting our club and help us financially so that we can promote them in the best way possible."

Sports and education - a winning combination

"I have clear goals that I convey to all the trainees over 40 years of working with them: iron discipline, dedication, perseverance, honesty and taking responsibility. Education is first and foremost because without it you cannot achieve achievements. I explain to parents how to behave correctly and what is an achievement sport and only Then he begins to shape each child into a champion in judo and also a valuable human being who can be trusted. This is a life enterprise that combines education with judo and I strongly believe that there are good results in judo achievements because of education."

We need financial support to be able to push the children higher in all fields.

There is a lack of clothing for campers and a lack of funding for travel to training camps and competitions.

And help for adult athletes to have money to live with peace of mind.

We would be happy to receive any possible help from sponsors.
