The Rottach-Egern mountain rescue service had to come to the rescue of a hiker who had fallen on the Ringspitz on Friday evening.

Snowfall and darkness made the operation difficult.

Bad Wiessee

– The emergency call was received by the mountain rescuers on Friday (December 16) at around 3:30 p.m.

As Alex Stern, spokesman for the Rottacher stand-by service, reports, a 32-year-old man and friends set out from Bad Wiessee on the tour via the farmer in the Au to the relatively unknown Ringspitz.

In the summit area, the man slipped on the slippery path and fell about 50 to 100 meters over rocky terrain.

Finally, the hiker was moderately injured, his companions made an emergency call.

"After that, the rescue operation started immediately," explains Stern.

With all-terrain vehicles and medical material, the mountain rescue service members and an emergency doctor made their way to the scene.

The darkness made orientation difficult.

Arriving at the site, the mountain rescuers first descended to the injured but responsive 32-year-old and initiated first aid.

According to Stern, the man was then rescued from the rough terrain with the help of ropes, pulley blocks and a mountain stretcher.

The men and women of the mountain rescue service then transported the injured person down on foot with the stretcher before handing the 32-year-old over to the rescue service.

The operation was not fully completed until around 9:30 p.m

The mountain rescue service was deployed with a total of eleven forces and the operations manager, and the rescue operation was only completely over at around 9:30 p.m.

After that, the activists went to the actually planned action of this evening: to the Christmas party of the readiness at the Wildbachhütte.

The emergency services would not have let that be taken despite the late hour, says the spokesman.
