The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, confirmed today, Sunday, that Qatar has fulfilled its promise to organize an exceptional tournament from the Arab countries at the end of the "Qatar 2022" World Cup, which was crowned by the Argentine national team.
Sheikh Tamim said in a tweet via his account on the social networking site Twitter, "I congratulate the Argentine national team for winning the World Cup, and the French national team for winning the championship. I thank all the teams for their wonderful play, and the fans who enthusiastically encouraged them."
The Emir of Qatar added, "We have fulfilled our promise to organize an exceptional tournament in the Arab countries, which provided an opportunity for the peoples of the world to learn about the richness of our culture and the misguidance of our values."

During the closing ceremony of the tournament, Sheikh Tamim handed over the World Cup symbol to Argentina captain Lionel Messi, and preceded that by gifting him a traditional Qatari dress that Messi wore before going up with his colleagues to celebrate the third coronation in their history.
