France lost Sunday in the World Cup final against Argentina.
After the defeat of the Blues, Emmanuel Macron tried for a long time to console Kylian Mbappé.
The player, sitting on the lawn, staring into space, didn't even seem to be listening to him.
On Twitter, Internet users found the behavior of the head of state particularly embarrassing.
Sad Sunday evening for the French.
The Blues lost in the World Cup final against Argentina, after a legendary match.
After the match, Emmanuel Macron wanted to console the players, especially Kylian Mbappé, who brought the score to 3-3 before the penalty shootout.
"Why does Macron shame us every time?"
The head of state tried, on several occasions, to get closer to the player, taking him in his arms and whispering comforting words in his ear.
But Kylian Mbappé, with a haggard look, stunned by defeat, did not even seem to be listening to the head of state.
It was enough for Internet users to laugh at the behavior of the head of state, considered deeply “embarrassing”.
"Macron forcing Mbappé to give him a hug", "57 seconds of embarrassment", "this image is terrible", "why does Macron shame us every time?", Could we read on Twitter.

Internet users would have preferred Macron to keep a low profile
The Head of State also made a point of addressing the Blues in the locker room, to congratulate them on their career.
“There will undoubtedly be regrets after this match (but) you played great football (…) you had the heart, the hunger, the desire and the talent to go there. very young, who will do many more, more than me as president", he declared in front of the players who were all staring into space.
Once again, the head of state was accused of "taking advantage" of this sequence to shine and send back a positive image of him.
Internet users would have preferred that the president keep a low profile and let the Blues calmly digest their defeat…
