Residents of the city of Baden-Baden have made an application for a camera because of "disgusting" conditions on a local staircase.

And this was apparently approved - some users on the net doubt that.

Baden-Baden – Spitting on the floor once properly: In China this is completely normal.

In fact, it's even a kind of purification ritual there.

In Europe, too, the noisy pulling up and spitting out of the mucus used to be no problem.

It was not until around 1900 that there was a change in thinking in this area due to increasing tuberculosis.

Most now agree that spitting in public is inappropriate.

In some cities in Germany, such as Cologne, for example, it is even punished with a fine of up to 60 euros.

But as a case in Baden-Baden in Baden-Württemberg shows, that doesn't stop some "spitters", reports BW24.

With a note, residents of the city inform that they have now turned to the city after a "big spit and slime action" on a staircase at the beginning of the month.

They had submitted an application for a camera, "because what's going on here is disgusting," it says.

And if you want to believe the authors, the city administration took the concern of the angry citizens seriously and approved the application.

A photo of the note, which was apparently attached to the affected staircase, can be found on the Instagram page "Notes of Germany".

The account operators regularly share strange messages or notices that are posted in German cities or communities with their around 72,000 followers (as of December 16, 2022).

The opinions of users in the comments are divided.

Some find "this spitting around" just as "deviant" and "low-level" as the note's authors.

Others are more likely to ask "how much spit that must be" when the residents are so upset about it.

Netz doubts that "nonsense on the note" is true

Above all, other users doubt that the city of Baden-Baden actually approved the application for a camera.

"Hell would rather freeze over than the nonsense on the note is only partially true," writes one user.

"I'd be surprised if it happened so quickly.

You first have to send a fax from one authority to another, which is then also NOT responsible," writes another, while a man comments directly below: "NO authority will install a camera.

Neither on private property nor on public property.” In fact, the use of video surveillance by public authorities in Baden-Württemberg is strictly regulated by law.

It remains to be seen whether the stairs in Baden-Baden will have a camera or not.

The Instagram page "Notes of Germany" has often posted messages from angry residents of Baden-Württemberg.

For example, a Mannheimer turned to the neighborhood with an angry note.

And a disgruntled man from Stuttgart is looking for "asocial parents" who dispose of their diapers in the yard with a notice.
