The Russian government is discussing systemic measures to support domestic video games until 2030. The Kommersant newspaper writes about this, citing materials from a Cabinet meeting dedicated to supporting the domestic gaming industry.

The article says that the creation of a state-controlled developer and publisher of video games is being discussed.

In particular, it is planned to create a structure called "Rosgeim".

Three scenarios are proposed for the development of the video game industry with funding from $7 billion to $50 billion by 2030.

It is noted that the most ambitious scenario involves the allocation of up to $ 50 billion, the launch of a Russian rating agency, as well as an increase in studios by 14 times.

According to the newspaper, by 2030 it is planned to release 25 video games, the budget of each of which will be from 6.5 billion rubles.

The article says that 40 more less expensive games are also expected to be released.

The author writes that domestic games will be able to compete with popular global projects and become a “soft power tool” abroad.

Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev said that the department proposes to launch a program to support the development of domestic games.
