Flydubai unveiled a special livery for two of its Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, to celebrate the Argentine national football team's victory in the 2022 World Cup.

Flydubai, the regional partner of the Argentine Football Association, had transported the champion to Doha from Abu Dhabi after the conclusion of their training camp on November 18, marking the start of their journey towards the third cup.

Flydubai said in a statement yesterday: “The new colors and design on the two planes feature an image of the World Cup and the Argentine flag above the world champions, including Julian Alvarez, Rodrigo de Paul, Di Maria, Lautaro Martinez, Lionel Messi, Nicolas Otamendi and Paulo Dybala. The Campion (champions) poster and the three-star federation logo are within the new design.

She added that the two aircraft (A6-FKA and A6-FKB) will operate on selected flights on the last day of the match day flights between Al Maktoum Airports (Dubai World Central) and Doha International Airport.

Since the launch of these match-day flights on November 21, flydubai has transported more than 170,000 football fans from all over the world to Doha to take part in the world's biggest football event.

For his part, Chief Executive Officer of Flydubai, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said: “It was a wonderful month full of fun in football.

Operating up to 30 daily flights between Dubai and Doha was an unprecedented milestone in the region.

And all this was achieved thanks to the support and cooperation of all concerned parties and institutions, including Dubai Airports, dnata, Dubai Police and Dubai Residence, as well as our partner Qatar Airways.

Al-Ghaith added, “Our partnership with the winning team was a very important achievement in the history of (flydubai).

Congratulations to our partner, the Argentine national football team, and we also extend our congratulations to all the teams that participated in this year's tournament, which will certainly be recorded as one of the most successful and unforgettable editions of the World Cup.
