Today, the activities of the "Runwa Grass" festival, organized by St. George's Church in the Hamidiyeh neighborhood of Old Homs, concluded for the eighth year in a row, on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
The closing event of the festival, which started on the 7th of this month, included a Gregorian musical evening entitled “Hallelujah.. a star in this night” with the voice of Maysa Abu Deeb, and group singing and playing by the church choir, which was hosted by the new church hall on St. Michael’s Syriac Orthodox Church.
The choir, accompanied by Abu Deeb, sang Fayrouziat (Feast of the Night, and we were decorating a small tree), in addition to the songs of Majida Al-Roumi, “Knock Baben, Hallelujah in a small town, Hallelujah … a star in this night” and Christmas hymns to the Virgin Mary, to conclude the evening with a special song composed and sung by Maisa Abu Deeb, “Light from afar.” .

This year, it varied to suit all age groups to spread joy and happiness in the hearts of the participants, and included a variety of activities that received wide popular participation, starting with tree lighting and the carnival that roamed the streets and alleys of old Homs, to confirm the return of life and joy.
He explained that the activities also include the Gregorian exhibition, which culminated in the work of a team of women and youth, theatrical performances directed to theater lovers and children with disabilities, and the (Christmas) event, which was able to draw a smile on children's faces and bring joy to their hearts, pointing out that the festival represents It is an annual tradition in which civil and popular activities take part, and each year brings new and distinctive activities.
