Police arrested a man in his 60s who set fire to his gosiwon after hearing hallucinations telling him to set it on fire. Today, the Uijeongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi-do announced that they are investigating a man in his 60s on charges of arson of a building in Hyeonju.

Police arrested a man in his 60s who set fire to his gosiwon after hearing hallucinations telling him to set it on fire.



Today (19th), the Uijeongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi-do announced that they were investigating a man in his 60s on suspicion of arson of a building in Hyeonju.



Mr. A is accused of arson by setting fire to tissue paper in his gosiwon room in a 5-story commercial building in Uijeongbu City at around 8:35 pm the previous day (18th).



At that time, the room in the Gosiwon was partially burned, but the sprinkler worked right away and the fire did not spread significantly.



In particular, it was revealed that all 17 people living in the same goshiwon were evacuated urgently and there were no casualties.



After that, Mr. A himself reported this to the police.



Mr. A is said to have stated to the police, "I heard an hallucination telling me to light a fire." 



The police said, "With the consent of Mr. A's family, we plan to take measures so that Mr. A can be admitted to the hospital."
