The director of the museum, which is located in "Central Park" in Manhattan, Max Hollin, said that the exhibition, which will be held 170 years after the birth of the genius Dutch artist, will focus on the cypress trees that appeared in his works.

He added that these cypress trees "are probably the most famous trees in the history of art."

Among other things, the exhibition, which will be organized in May 2023, is expected to bring together two of the late painter's most famous paintings of cypress trees, for the first time since their completion.

The two paintings are: “Starry Night” from the New York Museum of Modern Art, and “Wet Field with Cypresses” (Wheat Field with Cypresses), which are on display at the Metropolitan Museum and are not allowed to be moved out of the museum due to special conditions. by donors.

He added that the number of visitors currently ranges between 60% and 75% of what it was before the outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic.
