Our first lunar probe, Danuri, entered lunar orbit in the early morning of the 19th.

The process for carrying out the mission is proceeding smoothly.

An official from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration who interviewed us exclusively said that Danuri's technology is already world-class.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute announced that Korea's first lunar probe, 'Danuri', was stably captured by the moon's gravity around 2:45 am this morning.

Danuri, which flew faster than bullets, slowed down and passed the most important barrier to entering lunar orbit.

After lowering the altitude to 100 km above the moon, Danuri will carry out missions such as exploring the candidate area for the first lunar base for humanity and analyzing the mineral resources of the moon from next year.

NASA Space Exploration System Deputy Director John Guidi first of all praised Danuri's space navigation technology that flew to the moon.

[John Guidi/NASA Deputy Director of Space Exploration Systems: The fact that the orbit correction (to the moon) was less than planned is a good indicator of the ability of the Korean researchers.]

Even communicating with the probe through space and entering lunar orbit He said he was impressed.

During the Danuri project, he also introduced an anecdote about solving some NASA equipment problems after receiving advice from Korean experts.

[John Guidi/NASA Space Exploration System Deputy Director: In the past, we (NASA) were developing a radiator to reduce the heat of the equipment, but the Korean researchers advised 'there is a better way, so try this' and that method was really right.

He also revealed his expectations for the screw 'Shadow Cam' on Danuri

.

[John Guidi/NASA Space Exploration System Deputy Director: (With Shadow Cam) Looking forward to observing the permanent shadow area.

It is believed that there will be a large amount of water and minerals in that area.]

If Shadow Cam finds a place with water on the moon, mankind's first lunar base will be built around it.

NASA said it wants to continue research cooperation until Korea launches a lunar module in 2032.
