Elon Musk decides to "step down" if "the people" want it

American billionaire Elon Musk, owner of the social networking site "Twitter", in an unexpected step, launched an opinion poll on his personal account, about his stepping down from his position as head of "Twitter".

Musk asked his followers: “Should I step down from my position as president of Twitter?” He added in his tweet that he would abide by the results of the poll.  

Musk went through many problems with “Twitter” during the past days, the latest of which was the suspension of the accounts of some journalists.

Elon Musk has reactivated several journalists' Twitter accounts after they were suspended for a day amid controversy over the publication of publicly available data on the billionaire's plane.

The reactivation of the accounts came after their unprecedented suspension drew harsh criticism from governments, activist groups and news organizations around the world, with some saying the platform endangered press freedom.

According to Russia Today, a poll conducted by Musk on Twitter later showed that the majority of respondents wanted the accounts back immediately.
