On Sunday, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced, after an audience granted by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the end of the extraordinary restrictions on the issuance of visas to Algerian nationals.
An effective decision "

" detailed the minister.
This is the main announcement in bilateral matters, after several trips by the greatest French political leaders to Algerian soil in recent months: Emmanuel Macron last August, then Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne in October and finally the Minister of Interior this Sunday.
In September 2021, in the context of the start of the presidential campaign in France, Emmanuel Macron announced that he would halve the visas issued to Algerians and Moroccans.
