A digital Fifa tournament took place in Gautinger Bosco.

Gauting

- "So that the young people don't just dabble pointlessly", Claus Piesch, head of the district youth council (KJR) and the social pedagogical team of the Gautinger JUZ (youth center) have created a new digital Fifa event.

Just in time for the final of the World Cup, 16 young people in teams of two fought for victory on the Playstation on Sunday under the motto "PS4 Fair FIFA Tournament live".

A big hit at the tournament was the "Icaros" snowboard sports equipment specially set up in the Bosco culture center.

"Actually, I only ski," confessed Sofia (15).

But at yesterday's FIFA event, the woman from Munich tried out snowboarding on the "Icaros" piece of sports equipment - and collected 26,000 "diamonds" through skilful balancing, twice as many as her older brother Santiago (17).

The "Icaros" game and sports equipment came from the state-financed Bayern-Lab Starnberg, as Claus Piesch said.

Because the Bayern-Lab is known to bring "digitization" to the people.

The KJR boss had developed the idea for the first Gautinger Playstation tournament with the JUZ social worker Friedrich Federsel and his colleague Nathalie von Hammerstein.

However, only 16 boys and not a single girl signed up to play football in the youth center.

In the Bosco, however, the digitization project with a game was more gender-equitable: Sofia (15) was there with her two brothers and mom, for example.

The Munich family enjoyed the "Mario Kart" tournament in the large Bosco Hall.

The digital street worker Jenny was also there live: Normally she is on the internet – as a contact person for young people, explained the qualified social worker.

The project was initiated by the Bavarian Youth Council.

For kids who are on Instagram or Discord, for example, this anonymous offer is “low-threshold,” emphasizes Jenny, who does not reveal her last name.

That would be different than before on the streets of Freising, "where it takes longer to build a relationship with the young people".

The street worker who works for the Bavarian Youth Council says her anonymous offer is well used online.

At the moment, seven digital street workers are involved in the project: "The target group are 14 to 27 year olds who can report anonymously and thus easily." The reasons include bullying, training and professional problems,

The “fat finale” of the first fair Fifa tournament in Gauting, which was broadcast on the Bosco mega screen, was very enjoyable.

In addition to games and fun, there were surprise prizes for the winners, including a two-year ticket for Matthias Helwig's wide-screen cinemas in the district, revealed the head of the district youth association, Claus Piesch.
