Despite six million unemployed in France, the number of job vacancies is exploding in the country.

This is indicated by a study by Dares, which reveals that nearly 365,000 jobs do not find takers.

An unprecedented figure, which doubled compared to the first quarter of 2021, indicates the organization.

France remains a country of paradox on its own labor market.

France still has 6 million job seekers, despite an unemployment rate at its lowest since 2008. And yet, according to a study by Dares, the Department of Statistics Research Animation of the Ministry of Labor , relating to companies with 10 or more employees, there have never been so many job vacancies in the country.

Job creations

The organization lists nearly 365,000 vacant positions.

A figure that has almost doubled compared to the first quarter of 2021. Be careful, if positions are free, that does not mean that there is a boss in great difficulty behind each vacant job.

The DARES takes into account all the jobs for which companies are recruiting and which are in an active recruitment process.

For example, nearly a quarter of so-called vacant jobs correspond, for example, to job creations.

But the share of truly unoccupied jobs is increasingly important, note the authors of the study.

 Increase in vacancies

"What has increased a lot over the recent period is the quantity of unoccupied positions for which the incumbent is no longer there and the company is unable to recruit", explains at the microphone of Europe 1, the deputy Director of Employment and Labor Market at Dares, Dorian Roucher.

"It represents almost half of the vacancies currently, compared to less than 40% in 2016, which is one more indication that recruitment difficulties are at a historically high level. Conversely, we have a fairly significant drop newly created jobs and jobs that are about to become free," he notes.

So, to remedy this situation, the government passed its unemployment insurance reform.

The latter aims to adapt the duration of benefits for the unemployed, according to the dynamism of the labor market.

From now on, the executive hopes to fill this lack of manpower as quickly as possible and promote the country's economic activity.
